Car Accident Injury Rotator Cuff Tear Herniated Disks/Nerve Damage Severe Pain in Pelvic Area
Chronic Headaches Lower Back Pain Prenatal Care of Infants & Children

Reason for Care: Car Accident Injury
Patient's Name: Elizabeth C.
Age: 32
Occupation: Homemaker

Elizabeth was a passenger in a car that was struck by another vehicle. When the air bag deployed, the impact forced her body against the seat, and when it rebounded, all the force was transmitted to her left shoulder. "I couldn't lift my arm, and I was in so much pain I couldn't even dress myself."

The doctor she saw initially was an internal medicine specialist. The heat treatments and pain pills didn't help, and she didn't like the side effects.

"Dr. Sampson examined me and began treating me with traction therapy, ice packs, muscle therapy and spinal adjustments. After just a few treatments, my range of motion improved, and I felt a lot better.   Gradually, over the next few weeks I was able to use my arm again. I'm so grateful because I was afraid I would be permanently paralyzed. Now I tell everyone that chiropractic works, it gets results, and that's what counts!"

Reason for Care: Chronic Headaches
Patient's Name: Jonathan J.
Age: 30
Occupation: Owner of Contracting Company

Jonathan had a history of multiple headaches, weekly, for as long as he could remember. An auto accident prompted him to seek x-rays from Dr. Sampson. In addition to his weekly headaches, he had a very sore neck and lower back and was concerned he may have suffered some fractures in the accident.  "I became more irritable and didn't want to do anything but sleep until the pain went away," reflected Jonathan .

While no fractures were apparent on the x-rays, Dr. Sampson did find that the top two vertebrae in Jonathan's neck were out of place. He also found some problems in the patient's lower back that could easily be remedied with some treatment.

Jonathan has just completed two months of care.  He has not had a single headache since his very first adjustment with Dr. Sampson! His low back is not stiff and painful any more, which allows him to handle his physically demanding job much more safely. Jonathan concludes, "I can honestly say that I was a little skeptical about how a chiropractor could help my condition. After only two months of treatment, I feel 100% better! I experience no headaches and wholly believe that Dr. Sampson found the root of my pains and cured them!"

Reason for Care: Rotator Cuff Tear (Adhesive Capsulitis) "Frozen Shoulder."
Patient's Name: Gerhard B.
Age: 51
Occupation: Business Owner

A horse back riding accident occurred when Gerhard was bucked off of his horse, and he tore some tendons in his shoulder. An MRI indicated a rotator cuff tear. "Pain and inflammation increased day by day, until I could not even use my right arm to pull my wallet out of my back pocket!" explains Gerhard. "This ended all of my sports activities, and I could not sleep on my right side. I was prescribed pain killers and even steroid-based cortisone shots...over a three month period, nothing helped at all."

Gerhard began care with Dr. Sampson on a schedule of two visits per week, including in-clinic exercise rehabilitation and some needed spinal treatment. After two weeks of care, he began to improve significantly. "My pain got less every day, and movement of my arm increased every day!" explained Gerhard. "Now, two months later, I have full use of my arm back. I really missed riding and other sports. It feels good to be back to normal again! Dr. Sampson pointed out some other areas in my spine that needed some fine tuning. I was thankful that he cared for my body as a whole, and did not just look at my shoulder."

Patient's Name: Peggy F.
Age: 44
Occupation: Dental Hygienist

Peggy developed inflammation of the bottom of her foot from pressing on a foot pedal for 23 years working as a dental hygienist. Her general medical practitioner prescribed heel inserts, and within a week she developed back pain.

Dr. Sampson was listed in her insurance provider list, so she made an appointment. His examination revealed the misalignment in her lower back that was causing her pain. "Dr. Sampson was very helpful, and I especially appreciate that he takes time to explain everything and answer all my questions."

After three months of treatment, Peggy is pain free! "My lower back and neck feel great...more flexible and stronger than ever."

Reason for Care: Herniated Discs/Nerve Damage
Patient's Name: Jennifer G.
Age: 32
Occupation: Contract Administrator

A gymnastics-related injury left Jennifer with two herniated discs and extreme pain in her shoulder and arm. The pain had severely limited her ability to move, and the muscles in her arm had begun to atrophy.   Her previous doctor recommended corrective surgery as her only option for a full recovery.

After meeting with Dr. Sampson, Jennifer declined the surgery, opting instead for a more natural, holistic approach to healing. Dr. Sampson began to regularly adjust the cervical vertebrae (vertebrae in her neck) that were causing the herniated discs. They began a routine of in-clinic exercise therapy and cervical traction to help her regain her range of motion and rebuild the muscles in her should and arm.

In two months time, Jennifer fully regained both her range of motion and her strength. She was also completely free of the debilitating pain.

"Since I've been going to Dr. Sampson on a regular basis, I've been able to regain my normal routine in movement/mobility...(He) takes the time to talk with you about your specific problem and...what needs to be done to get you back on your feet to resume a normal, healthy lifestyle."

He never seems to be rushing through an appointment and seems to genuinely care about helping me to live pain-free."

"Overall, the improvement of my condition has been extraordinary. I have felt better after each treatment and after only one month, I am not having headaches or hip pain. I am even able to workout without pain!"

Care of Infants & Children
The atlas subluxation syndrome of the baby and infant.  Case study by Gutmann, M.D.

From the author's abstract:

"Three case reports are reviewed to illustrate a syndrome that has so far received far too little attention, which is caused and perpetuated in babies and infants by blocked nerve impulses at the atlas (first neck vertebra). The clinical picture ranges from central motor impairment and development to lowered resistance to infections, especially to ear, nose and throat infections...Chiropractic can often bring about amazingly successful results, because the therapy is a causal one."

Gutman is a medical and chiropractic doctor, who has been using chiropractic techniques for the past 35 years. From his and other German medical studies, Gutman has been led to conclude that only 14-20% of all children are in autonomic balance. The author suggests that of the 80% now in balance, many atlas subluxations must be included. He has been "constantly amazed how, even with the lightest adjustment with the index finger, the clinical picture normalizes, sometimes gradually, but often immediately."
